The Circulation Booster

Q. Is The Circulation Booster suitable for everyone?
A. Use only as directed. If symptoms persist consult your healthcare professional. Do not use in first trimester of pregnancy, with an AICD, Pacemaker or with existing DVT. Consult your doctor if you have a history of epilepsy.


Q. I don’t have the time to use The Circulation Booster for 30 minutes per day, how can I get the benefit?
A.  You can easily incorporate The Circulation Booster into your day by using it whenever you are in a seated position for more than 10 minutes. Many people choose to use it while watching TV, reading or at the computer.


Q.  I suffer from poor circulation. How often can I use The Circulation Booster?
A.  We recommend that for best results you use The Circulation Booster for 30 minutes daily. However, you can use The Circulation Booster up to 6 times per day, at up to 1 hour per session. To avoid muscle aches and tiredness, you may need to begin with less time and steadily increase your sessions.


Q.  Will I get best results from using The Circulation Booster on the highest setting?
A.  If the treatment feels comfortable and you can see and feel your muscles being stimulated you are likely to be on the right intensity setting. Using an intensity setting that is too high can overwork your muscles and reflexes, which may result in pain, fatigue or aggravation of an existing symptom. Likewise, using a setting that is too low will not be beneficial.

 

Q. Can I leave my socks on?
A. No, the Circulation Booster needs bare skin and will not work through stocks or stockings.

The Circulation Booster MOBILE

Q. Can CB MOBILE be used on a plane?
A. Yes, CB MOBILE is safe to be used on aeroplanes where electronic equipment is allowed to be used eg. MP3 players and laptops.


Q. Are there any precautions when using CB MOBILE?
A.  Users may experience a stinging sensation if the CB MOBILE is used on broken skin or when alcohol has been consumed.  To avoid this, please dress any broken skin and avoid alcohol consumption before and during use.

 

Q.  The sock applicators are woven with silver thread, so what do they feel like?
A.  The socks look and feel like soft, normal dress socks, they are not scratchy or rigid at all.  The only differences are if you turn them inside out, you can see the silver thread and on the outside they have a metal connector for you to attach the leads.

 

Q. Can you wash them?
A. Yes you can wash them in the washing machine just as you would normal socks.

 

Q. Do I need to buy socks as well?
A. The Circulation Booster Mobile comes with the handheld control unit, socks and two leads.  Extra socks are also available as accessories.

The Detox Box

Q. How long should I stay in The Detox Box?
A. Half an hour is usually the right amount of time but you may need to begin with ten minutes and work up to half an hour if you are frail or suffer from illness.


Q. What temperature is best?
A. We suggest beginning at 30oC and working up to 45oC. It is not necessary and often not advisable to exceed this temperature.


Q. Is it necessary to “warm up” The Detox Box?
A. The warm up time for The Detox Box is just 8 minutes. When the unit is turned on, it automatically includes this 8 minutes in the startup time.


Q. Is it easy to assemble?
A. Yes, it should take about sixty minutes. It arrives flat packed in large boxes. Tools and instructions are provided. However if there any difficulties you can always call High Tech health on 1800 505 108.


Q. What are the heaters made of?
A. There are two types of heaters: CE and C6. Both heaters are designed to emit waves in the 5.5 to 15 micron wave length. The large number of heaters and specially designed to ensure that every part of the body is illuminated.


Q. Is canadian hemlock construction better than cedar or other woods?
A. Canadian hemlock is especially selected for The Detox Box as it contains fewer terpines (volatile oils that are lung irritants.) This becomes extremely important if you have allergies, or sensitivities. Most people that purchase canadian hemlock far infrared saunas do so because they either have a health problem or are hoping to prevent one.


Q. Is The Detox Box contraindicated for anybody?
A. Due to the more controlled temperature, far infrared saunas are beneficial to a wider variety of people; however the therapy is contraindicated for pregnant and lactating mothers and those with recent injuries that are still swollen. If you are unsure about your health condition seek advice from a health practitioner.


Q. Are shower facilities required in a clinic situation?
A. We recommend showering immediately after sauna use to avoid re-absorption of toxins. However, we have found that the patient is very reluctant to shower in the doctor’s office and prefers to go directly home to shower. Therefore, most health practitioners have the patient arrive in a sweat suit with a swimsuit underneath. The treatment usually lasts thirty minutes. The patient sits on a towel has his/her feet on a towel and wipes off the perspiration as it occurs. The patient then dons his/her sweat suit and goes home to shower. The re-absorption is minimal.


Q. I have a Bed and Breakfast and want to offer benefits of a sauna. I know the health benefits of far infrared sauna over a regular sauna. Are there other reasons?
A. Yes, The Detox Box costs much less to operate. The canadian hemlock construction is best for your guests because as many as 15% of your guests may be allergic to cedar. Also, the low temperature limits (18 - 60oC) will be healthier for your guests.

Water Ionisers

Q. How much water is produced per minute?
A. Approximately, 6 litres per minute. Approximately two thirds of the water is alkaline and one third of the water is acidic.

Q. Is the Akai Water Ionizer difficult to install?
A. No, a small hose is attached to the tip of your kitchen faucet via a diverter valve. This type of installation takes only minutes, may be easily moved, and will not "tie up" your sink. The unit can be wall-mounted or positioned on your counter. It will require an area 10.4 inches wide and 6.0 inches deep. (It cannot be mounted under the counter.)

Q. What is the highest pH (alkaline) and the lowest pH (acidic) produced by the Akai Water Ionizer?
A. As with all water ionizers, this will depend on your input water. Generally, unless your water is acidic (below 7.0 pH) to begin with, our unit will provide a range from about 5.0 to 10.0 pH. We suggest you drink the water at about a 9.0 pH. Studies indicate this is the optimum pH for your drinking water.

 

Q. What type of pre-filter is employed by the Akai Water Ionizer?
A. The Akai Water Ionizer first utilizes granular activated carbon to absorb chlorine and chemicals, then hollow fibre membranes to provide filtration to .1 micron. By filtering below bacteria levels, it is unnecessary to silver impregnate the filter. Although several manufacturers of lesser quality water ionizers use silver-impregnated charcoal or carbon, they are not considered by the Water Quality Association to be effective in eliminating the possibility of bacteria growth in the filter. Further, the E.P.A is very concerned that the silver used in silver-impregnated filters may end up in the drinking water and therefore end up in your body as a heavy metal. If you are using equipment that has silver-impregnated filtration, make certain that it is manufactured to E.P.A. specifications and is E.P.A. listed. See E.P.A. at www.epa.gov for further information regarding this potentially dangerous filter. No other water ionizer uses more effective or safer filtration than the Akai Water Ionizer.

 

Q. If the filter is that good, how long will it last?
A. As a rule of thumb, the better the filter, the shorter the life because it works so hard. The P900 filter will process 6,000 litres before requiring replacement, unless you have a lot of sediment in your water, i.e. from shallow wells. In that case, we suggest you pre-filter your water. 6,000 litres will last the average family of four about one year based on 4.3 gallons per day of water used specifically for drinking and cooking. The Akai Water Ionizer is the only unit on the market equipped with a digital meter that tells you the exact amount of water that has been processed through the filter. This feature, exclusive to the Akai Water Ionizer, is in addition to audible and visual indications informing you when to order a new filter and exactly when to change filters.

 

Q. What is the benefit associated with ultraviolet light?
A. The UV light comes on automatically when you run water through the unit and remains on for 30 seconds after the water has been turned off. The low dosage UV treatment given to the water is quite effective for eliminating viruses which require no more than 8,000 microwatts of UV light per second per CM2. Bacteria, which require higher dosages, have already been filtered out if present in your water. The ultra-high dosage UV that takes place with no water moving is used to ascertain that no bacteria has entered the unit from a reverse direction - another Akai Water Ionizer exclusive feature.

 

Q. How long will the UV bulb last?
A. Actually there are two UV bulbs in the Akai Water Ionizer. Although you can see the reflection of the UV through a special viewing window, the unit's special service diagnostic program (SDP) will alert you by displaying "UV change" in the window that normally displays the litre meter. It is unlikely you will see this because the UV lamps are rated at 2,500 hours of water flowing through (225,000 gallons) or approximately 20,000 times used. If you use the unit four times per day, it should last you 13.7 years thereby exceeding the 12-year life of the unit.

 

Q. What are the electrodes made and what keeps them from becoming plated with minerals in areas such as South Australia where the water is highly mineralised (hard water)?
A. This is an important question because the biggest problem with ionizers is the potential for electrodes to become plated, thereby rendering the unit useless. It is for that reason that we use platinum-coated titanium instead of stainless steel, which is used in some low-price units. The cleaning of the electrodes is accomplished by reversing the polarity. This, in effect, causes the electrodes to repel those minerals (calcium, potassium, magnesium) that were attracted during normal processing. Older units performed this function after the unit was turned off (no water running through it) and then only for a few seconds. This technique causes excess minerals, primarily calcium carbonate, to be dumped off into the electrolysis chamber. This can result in "packing" of the chamber in hard water areas. The chamber eventually will plug up necessitating a return trip to the manufacturer/importer who will attempt to dissolve these deposits by forcing vinegar through the unit. The Akai Water Ionizer has a unique, patented process that eliminates the above problem. The improved cleaning function is quite simple. It involves reversing the polarity of the electrodes, with the water running through it, BEFORE you use the unit each day. The result is acidic water coursing through the unit washing all surfaces that would normally come into contact with alkaline water. Also, once a year, we suggest the use of our "CL" attachment. This goes on the unit in place of the filter and creates a citric acid solution, which soaks in the unit for one hour dissolving all deposits.

 

Q. Can ionizers work with softened water?
A. Yes, by using either the calcium adding filter or the calcium and magnesium adding filter

Lotus Santising System

Q. How does it work?
A. The lotus patent technology infuses cold tap water with an extra oxygen atom, creating a natural sanitizer. By passing air through 4,500 volts of electricity, the lotus system splits oxygen molecules into atoms and forces this extra atom to combine and form super-oxygen. The third oxygen atom becomes the sanitizing agent, a natural oxidant -- which kills bacteria and viruses, and neutralizes pesticides.

 

Q. How do you know it’s working?
A. The built in sensors monitor the Oxyshield technology infusion process occurs in every cycle to safely create one of the most powerful, all-natural sanitizing agents in the world. The indicator on the unit will reach 100% once the water has been fully activated.

 

Q. How long does the oxygenated water last for?
A. In about two minutes the lotus water is ready to be used for up to 1 hour to clean. EPA registered to kill 99.99% of bacteria and viruses during the first 15 minutes. A count down timer on the unit tells you that it is time to reload and recharge.

 

Q. How long do you wash your fruit and veg for?
A. Maximum bacteria and pesticide reduction may be achieved after 4 minutes but may take up to 8 minutes if the produce is highly saturated with contaminants. Once the lotus process shows 100% complete your produce is free of pesticide residues and bacteria making the produce taste better and last up to 4 times longer!

 

Q. How much does it hold?
A. The bowl holds 4 litres and the spray bottle holds 550mls

 

Q. Can you drink the water?
A. This system is NOT designed to make sanitized drinking water, and drinking it is not recommended until after it reverts to plain water (after 15 minutes).

Q. Are there any toxic by – products as a result of this process?
A. No, after 15 minutes sanitizes water turns back into plain old water.
